A Love Letter to supporters that kept the club alive. The fragile foundations built from Brady and the FIGHT, with Dick & Martin Perry & Quentin’s cash - ultimately led to Tony Bloom’s extraordinary foresight & vision. Great for those of us that were there and lived it - even better for those who were not.

I used the same phrase about love letter to a friend earlier. Such a great phrase

Superb from start to finish, and the spontaneous round of applause as the closing credits rolled at the end of today's 3pm screening was nothing less than Stand or Fall deserved.

The amount of dust in the room was chronic, however.

When he appeared on screen, it was interesting to observe / hear a level of disgust and pure hatred in the room. I could clearly hear the c word uttered by a few people under their breath.

More so than when archer was on screen doing his captain pugwash impersonation
When Archer came on screen, I gave an immediate uncontrollable giggle when I remembered the chant "He's only got one eye".

Question for those who have seen it - does Greg Stanley appear at all or have his part in trying to run the club out of business acknowledged? Or is Tony Bloom still trying to pretend he played no part in it because Stanley was good mates with Uncle Ray?

He appears on screen, is named and it is covered he handed over control to archer. I think ian Hart addresses that 3 people deserve no credit for how this club has grown and they are Stanley, archer and belotti.

Most of the criticism is for the last 2

Has there been any word on international rights to this thing?

Bit worried it will be very difficult to watch it from outside UK.

There was always going to be that 'elephant in the room' re the film, especially for those of us who had the meeting with Archer in the Goldstone boardroom during the 'troubles', the iconic boardroom table, we are all sat one side and opposite there's Archer, Bellotti and Uncle Ray. (by this time Stanley had wet himself knowing he was into something that would never end well)

As a local as the campaign heated up Ray was very much the easy target, I believe he ended up on some taxi and pizza delivery blacklist because of the amount of hoax calls to his property.

In his defence he did later admit that he was 'misguided' to back Archer but he initially thought his plans were plausible, and the only way of getting out of the blackhole the club were in.

Obviously with Tony paying Matt Lorenzo to make the film, some things had to go under the radar.

Sorry if this has already been asked and answered, but, plans for a wider release/way to view this apart from getting down the Amex? DVD or onto streaming?

Cheers

Word is it’s available internationally to all countries bar Sweden after the director and film maker spent a week on NSC and developed an irrational hatred to the country. Not sure of the details.

I realy enjoyed it - but did wonder why the delay in release.

It ended when we qualified for Europe - yet nothing from Europe was included - why was that?

I still get uptight seeing that bustard. I had opportunities to do real physical damage to him..including once trapping him in a revolving door. My skin crawls just seeing him. The film does a great job of showing him to be the evil lying **** he really was
By the time we got the final planning permission, Bellotti had moved to Bath. It's rather childish, but when Falmer was given the OK I found out where he lived and drove round to his house. When I got there he was loading up his car for some sort of trip - he tried to ignore me, but I basically said "F*ck you - we won!" I dragged our youngest daughter along (much to her embarrassment) and she took a few photos....

Is it a fact that TB paid Matt Lorenzo to make the film? I always just assumed it was an independent movie of a story well worthy of telling rather than the club commissioned it

Its been picked up by TNT which is owned by discovery, so may be available on their platform whatever it is.

Hardly any mention of Micky Adams in the film neither yet he turned us back around completely on the playing side, is there bad blood with him as well?

His spell was covered briefly, but there's only so much you can pack in.
I was expecting to see more from the European campaign as well (being as this thing had been put back so often), but aside from a couple of goals vs Ajax and AEK it didn't really feature. I guess it was more about the journey.

It really is a superb production though, from start to finish. Essential viewing I would say for any young Albion fan who has only ever known the good times, and any player who signs for us - it drives home just what a unique club BHA is, and just what we had to go through to get to where we are.

The one person MIA for me was Des. Would've loved a few minutes of his thoughts in this. But its terrific, and I'll definitely be purchasing as/when it comes out on DVD.
