Yes. Russia has certainly been trying to grab more land in the past few weeks, making constant attacks across the whole front line in Ukraine.
They haven't gained as much as Ukraine has in Kursk, but their intention prior to the election has been clear.

This kind of seems like the beginning of the end (of the world).
Seems dramatic, but with the wars (potentially nuclear), climate change and the economic timebomb - a president like Trump coming in at this crucial time, will potentially exacerbate all of these severe and pressing issues, which could result in a truly terrible period in the history of humanity.

Changing this thread slightly, it would seem that the Labour Govt were better prepared for this than many of us (and certainly I) was.
The new Trump administration are making positive noises about the meeting they held with Starmer and Lammy in New York a few weeks ago (where Lammy even got served and extra portion of chicken by Trump himself - presumably to keep him away from Trumps cheeseburgers) and also that Starmer contacted him after the shooting
But the uk govt have a tough choice now. Brexit was supposed to enable better trade deals with the US. Under America first, that won't happen.so does Starmer abandon the slowly slowly catchy monkey plan to have closer ties with the EU and go quicker towards that?

Anyone who thinks someone like Trump can sort the country is clearly stupid beyond repair.

The Democratic Party message came across as angry negativity victimhood and rage. It was ridiculous from the start. The calling their opponents “weird“ at every opportunity like a TikTok teenager. It was erratic and infantile. A more positive central message that doesn’t just appeal to rage activists would’ve helped.

Wow. Wait until you see what Trump was saying in his campaign.
But honestly, the problem is that Trump is a master of manipulating the media and getting them to look at him. When Harris was positive, which she was, many times, the media ignored it. Almost the only time they covered her was when they asked her to respond to Trump's latest outrage.
It's the trap that Trump sets. And the Democrats keep falling for it.
