We spend serious amounts of time behind the goal in the north Veltman watching. It's been hilarious & beautiful for years. He shithouses for 90 minutes

I hate this sort of cheating. All of it. Veltman included. You have to either be all in favour of it, including when the opponents do it, or be against it, including when your own side does it.

I can’t stand people getting all principled and opinionated about something when they’re the victim of it while happy to do it themselves. Shithousery, feigning injury, time wasting, diving for penalties, f*** the lot of them. In that clip, the goalkeeper makes a misjudgement, the opponent reacts quickly and his side deserves a goal. They’re deprived of the chance.

Outside football, tax evasion comes to mind. Oh how we moralise about it (rightly). But if a tradesman offers a discount for cash? Yes please.

The rules are pretty clear. This was an example of a tactical yellow card. The goalkeeper had a choice to make - probably concede a goal, or receive a yellow card. It's a bit of a no-brainer if you think of it like that, and you'd like to think our keepers would do the same in that scenario.

Exploiting the rules to help the team is always going to happen while it's possible. It's a bit like taking it to the corner flag in the final minutes - it could be seen as unsporting and a form of legal time wasting - but until the rules change it will always be a thing.

Football's a pantomime, shithousery always exists. It's hilarious when Veltman or Maups does it, but we're outraged when Grealish or Zaha do it. It's all the fun of the fayre, just enjoy it for what it is, something exciting in an otherwise bland and pretty predictable sport.

As to the clip, I'd have sent the goalie off just for added fun and shithousery. That would've made headlines!
