Just to be clear, the 25% UK rate is for profits over £50,000. It is 19% for profits below £50,000.
You obviously weren’t aware of the genius of their:
- Vocational education. 50% of 18 to 22 year olds follow this route, up to degree level for many. Far fewer study purely academic subjects than the UK.
- 3.3m Mittestand businesses, each with less than 500 employees, producing high quality niche goods and services.
The envy of Europe since WW2. As is their health service.
With a 26.5% marginal CT rate in the band £50,001 to £250,000.

This is quite interesting to know. I guess it means people are seeing through the noise of the free clothes and football tickets and focusing on the policies. Which, in my opinion, is how it should be.
You can still do a lot of business and be HQd somewhere else. I work for a company which has its Europe business headquartered in Ireland but they employ people from all over.
Big development teams in Eastern Europe, product leads in Ireland but a big sales and professional services team in the UK and digital nomads in France and Spain. All because we use a distributed teams model mostly working from home.
The biggest threat to my job isn’t tax. It’s Brexit. I do a lot of work in the Netherlands and I cannot guarantee being at a morning meeting there unless I travel the night before due to the appalling passport queues. More cost and more inconvenience.

Whether there is any truth in that is open to question, although likely in some cases. Evidence of 'Zero' though would be debatable, many folk up sticks for work or whatever.

I think you'll find that Germany's growth of late has been due to their prior high dependence on Russian gas, exacerbated by the large size of their manufacturing sector, and the transition away from it.
Longer-term, their car industry has been a significant part of their economy, and it's under threat by Chinese EVs. Maybe this is the point where @Weststander becomes less in awe of the German approach to economics and politics?

So it’s interesting that the only constant question for Peter Kyle across all media yesterday was “did you invite Elon Musk?”. To which he gave one of the correct answers, which is no, because he has no current or future investment plans here.
The other answer, of course, is “no because he’s a right wing conspiracy theorist and a Nazi tech bro who’s currently ruining the world”. It’s the answer I’d have given around about the fifth time I was asked, which is why Kyle is a politician and I’m not.
