Phone was silently passed to me with "a look" on the face of Lord B. First reaction was "Well there's a thing!", and I came straight upstairs texted news to son, sat back, thought "Hooray" and said as much on NSC.

First I heard of it was when my alarm went off at 7 this morning and it was actually on Radio 1's news bulletin! How often do we get mentioned on Radio 1 news Must be a really slow sports news day.

First thing I thought was "howcome I didn't read this on NSC?"

And yes, I did exclaim "f***ing hell" despite there being nobody to hear me

Found out at about midnight last night, when also checking the Eastbourne result was amazed, but felt delighted but felt sorry for Dean Wilkins at the same time. Still a bit mixed about it.

My radio alarm went off at 1-00am for me to get up for work (yes 1-00am!), a couple of minutes later while I was getting up the Radio 5 Live sports news came on, I heard it then. I was still half asleep, it was a big surpise, but a very pleasing one at that.
