Louis always gets me on the sing offs, he nearly always says something along the lines of:

"I'm going to judge this based on the performances of last night and the sing off tonight." Then goes on to say "I need to keep in the competition the person who I most feel has the ability to make it as a pop star, so I'm sending XXXX home". So, nothing to do with the performances in the sing off and the previous night's competition then.
