Does that bloke really think his life would be made easier if he indvidually stopped 7000 people from being able to watch their team in Brighton & Hove?

Talking of Withdean residents, does anyone think that Peter Andre will be bringing the kids to see the Albion, now that he has a house in the area?

He could be the biggest celeb at Withdean since Samuel L. Jackson.

Here and There
bound to be our friend Mr Catt, what amazes me is he moved there after we started playing at Withdean, did he not notice the stadium when he first drove around the area??? what a twat!!

Probably was driving around on the look out for something close by to complain about before moving into the area.

John Catt it is.:falmer::salute:

A Brighton man has failed in a High Court bid to block Brighton and Hove Albion's plans to stay at their Withdean stadium for another two years.

The club have temporary consent from Brighton and Hove City Council to continue playing games at the stadium until their new home at the University of Brighton is completed in 2011.

Neighbour John Catt has fought a long legal battle against the continued use by the club of the stadium, which adjoins his garden in Shepherds Croft.

He says its use for professional football interferes with his enjoyment of his home, due to light pollution, noise and traffic congestion on matchdays.

Yesterday, he was back before a judge at the High Court in London, arguing now that the case should be referred to the European Court of Justice to decide.

But, after hearing hours of argument from lawyers for Catt, the council and the football club, judge, Sir Thayne Forbes, dismissed his application.

Catt's lawyers had argued that the European court should be asked to decide whether the council had correctly approached its "screening opinion", relating to its assessment of the environmental impact of granting consent.

Dismissing the application, Sir Thayne said he could find no reason why the case should be referred to the European court and, therefore, Catt's challenge to the latest consent must fail.

In a witness statement put before the High Court today, Albion chief executive. Martin Perry spelt out the devastating impact being removed from Withdean could have had.

He said it would "destroy" the club, bringing it to a standstill at a crucial time with expensive works underway at the new stadium, while a failure to complete its fixture list would result in expulsion from the Football League.
