I'll probably regret getting into this, but here's something to mull from the NY Times, it's is discussing the recent divergence of fortunes between the US and Europe:

Economically, the comparisons are trickier, but here too there is divergence. The gap between American and European G.D.P. per capita has widened over the past two decades, and at the moment American productivity rates are surging roughly 5 percent a year.
The biggest difference is that over the past two decades the United States has absorbed roughly 20 million immigrants. This influx of people has led, in the short term, to widening inequality and higher welfare costs as the immigrants are absorbed, but it also means that the U.S. will be, through our lifetimes, young, ambitious and energetic.

as surely you have seen that on t.v. and many more things....

ahh yes, the great source of all knowledge, tv and 'many more things'

thanks berkshire for confirming what i thought. you know f*** all. you can't even be bothered to go and find out some facts when people pull you up on it.

oh and they're rapists now as well are they? my they are a bad lot aren't they.

berkshire, you are either on a wind up (not a very funny one) or you are an arsehole

your arguments are laughable. bit like the million quid skint sponsored us for eh?

Oi partridge if you think swamping this country with refuges is a superb idea then you are a complete arse.
I bet you think all these refuges are working as doctors and nurses and teachers etc:lolol:

If i go down the council do you think i will get a flat etc like fu-ck as i have been there.

I would love to invite you out with my mates and let you exsplain the good of shite loads of refuges in this country.
Not sure what sort of people you socialise with, but its certainly not the normal working folk thats for sure.

I hope they stick 300 of em where you live and see how you like it:salute:

Do you actually read posts replied to yours, or just keep posting mindless drivel without paying attention?

£37 per month. 30% less than what we recognise as poverty! Are you trying to claim that being so deep in poverty is some kind of life of luxury.

And swamping? I suppose you completely ignored the other posts about how we're 6th in Europe (17th in the World) for density of Asylum Seekers? Needing to exaggerate so much in your own posts only shows how desperate you're getting to seem right.

And as for making such pathetically stupid claims that they're all rapists? What a f***ing joke. I think we'd be better off focusing our attention on the BNP members in Welling (where the HQ is, or at least was) who kicked the living shit out of a pair of black pensioners. They're the scum. Or are they the mates you want AP to sit down and chat with?

Now stop posting your uneducated, made up shit on this board, and read your Daily Mail in the peace and quiet of your own place, preferably while watching Fox News. Maybe you'll finally be happy then.

Twat.

Live in the real world? I am. The world where the facts are as they are, not exaggerated to suit your twisted views. Don't see how you can treat that as the "real" world. Unless you mean in the same way as Ernie's "Real Albion Fans", or the "Real" IRA.

Let's look at the thread shall we? I don't have a clue? I'm the one that's presented facts and figures. You've presented thing you've watched on some TV show and "other things". Nice.

And learn how to spell.

Edited to add: Bitchy PM's don't go far either. Keep it here, unless you're particularly ashamed of what you have to say.

Fair enough mate, I guess there is no point us arguing, neither of us is going to give an inch here.

By the way, I have no problems accepting other people views, when they're presented properly and fairly. And not based on "something on TV". And not making sweeping generalisations like all asylum seekers are rapists.

this is going to be my final post on this matter in here, and infact i'm not even going to comment on what we've been talking about, just echo what hs said. i don't have a problem accepting other people's views but i have a very big problem accepting views based on hearsay and made up shit. oh and i work too (relevance?), although to be honest i am beginning to think i've been victim of a berkshire windup after reading the hiv comment on the other thread

still, i liked the 'oi partridge' reminded me of the farmers dropping that cow on him

'oi partridge you wanker!'

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

all this thread was supposed to be about was who ya voting for in the EU elections?

It seams to have turned into an Uber-rant on immigration somewhere along the line. and a political studies seminar on theories of the state.

Dont worry, I'll start a immigration thread in January when the Pikey Invasion has begun, or not.

I'm of now, do have a good weekend.

BTW

OK, here we go, if anyone's actually interested. Asylum figures from http://web.cs.mun.ca/~ulf/misc/figs-demo.html#citizen

Population figures from http://www.scottish-enterprise.com/...l/eo/europe/facts_figures.htm?siblingtoggle=1

Code:
Country Population Asylum Applicants (2001) Members of Pop/Asylum Seeker Rank

Germany 81,900,000 88,363 926.9 7th
France 59,500,000 47,263 1258.9 8th
Austria 8,100,000 30,135 268.8 1st
Belgium 10,300,000 24,549 419.6 5th
UK 60,100,000 88,200 681.4 6th
Sweden 8,900,000 23,513 378.5 3rd
Denmark 5,200,000 12,403 419.3 4th
Ireland 3,800,000 10,324 368.1 2nd

So in terms of number of asylum seekers per member of the population we are 6th. In other words, there are five countries in which there more asylum seekers per person. And as stated above, we give these asylum seekers a lot less than what we recognise as poverty levels. I have not included other countries such as Spain and Italy whose relative levels are much lower that those above.

Intresting figures but a couple of points.
They are out of date.
As a ratio of existing population may well reflect on the impact on culture but the most accurate comparison should concern Capacity. IE Population density

This impacts on housing/houseprices and Infrastructure.
The US may have imported 20 million in the last decade but there countries over 20 times the size of ours. Were would we put that number of people?

If net immigration, work permits and asylum seekers, is about 200,00 per year thats a population the size of Brighton and hove every 2 years. Where are they going to live?
