It occured to me whilst writing on the 'mountain bikes' thread, that I will never, ever, hand any of my cash over to Evans Cycles, due to poor service and shoddy workmanship, in the past.

Also I'll not be going back to The Swan in Fittleworth, what should be a top notch Sussex pub, has a terrible atmosphere.

Obviously Forfars comes into this equation, and I might be wrong (apologises if I am) but I think if you answer BoF, you can just write down who you DO purchase stuff from. It will be a shorter list.

Monteum - the seafoos specialist on Brighton Road in Shoreham.
Bought a lobster there for me and Mrs Scooter for valentines day. When I got it home there was hardly any meat and about a pint of water drained out - £20 quid for a pint of lobster flavoured water. I went back the next day with photos, didn't want a refund, perhaps £10's worth of credit and the guy behind the counter was so unpleasant. All he could say was "You should have bought it back mate". It was a valentines meal you dickhead, 7pm when I started cooking what am I supposed to do - "Sorry love you can't eat that tonight, its got to back to the fish monger". Anyway he wouldn't budge an inch, so I flounced off.
Its a real shame as me and the mrs eat and enjoy loads of seafood, its 100yds from where I work and if hadn't been such a **** about the whole thing i'd still be spending plenty there to this day..

As you may well have guessed, this whole episode still gets the veins on my neck bulging

Any shop (more often than not this applies to corner shops and offies) where you take your goods to the till and the person behind the counter is on the phone and just holds their hand out for the money. No please, no thank you, no "that will be X pounds please, It pains me to see people with so little manners and I will enver go back to a shop where I've experience that.

I'd suggest that your mate was a bit of a FATTY, and that they were trying to do him a favour by putting him off chicken nuggerts for life. NINE nuggerts indeed.

What makes you say that? I've been there a couple of times and had no problems at all.

It's very hit and miss in there. Had ok service and then alternatively had to wait an hour for food when the place was dead at the same time as being accused of trying to 'steal' a drink (a fruit juice for my daughter) because the bloke behind the bar didn't hear it in my order and I asked another member of staff to get it.

I remember him every time I go in there and wait for someone else to serve me over him

I find the younger staff in there ok but the older ones seem to hate the fact that working in a bar invovles face to face customer interaction.
