Surprised United weren’t linked before now TBH, unlike Chelsea they can offer CL football and he’s a United fan

Does seem very unlikely that someone who supposedly keeps his cards so closely to his chest would be openly mouthing off like that at the cricket.
Maybe he was drunk?

Although my sauce at the Route 66 diner on the A23 said Tone was in this morning and was telling anyone that would listen the price is £103m, whilst waiting for his Set3

Havertz (done) and Rice (almost done) to Arsenal, Maddison (done) to Spuds. Chelsea are a selling club at the moment. Liverpool have spent. So my guess is aligned with what others have suggested - ManUre or nowhere.

Arsenal might come back too. Although their FFP situation is very interesting, I don’t know how they are getting round it with all these signings.

According to Transfermarkt, their transfer dealings amount to -£371m in the last FFP 3 year period, not including Rice of course. Getting to -£105m by this weekend seems a stretch for them but they have covid allowances (as does every team) plus big profits from their stadium ticket sales. Will that be enough?
To quote some dullard from an Athletic piece:

I don’t see too much reason why they should be worried about FFP,” says Kieran Maguire, finance lecturer at Liverpool University and co-host of The Price Of Football podcast. “They’ve spent a lot of money in the last couple of seasons and look as though they will again, but they’ve seen a significant rise in revenue streams. In 2022-23, they finished higher in the table, so they’ll get more merit payments from the Premier League. They did modestly in Europe (losing in the last 16 of the Europa League) but at least there were (those extra) home games, where they’re probably making a couple of million each time.

“They’ll have bonuses kicking in from (front of shirt and stadium-name sponsor) Emirates and so on for being in the Champions League next season and just qualifying for the Champions League is worth a minimum of £30million. That’s before you’ve even kicked a ball.

“I don’t see too many concerns.”

A short while ago Naylor (I think) suggested the club will hold out for OVER £100m, that is looking more and more likely.

Moises must love his new agents, cocked up January for him, then didn’t put a release clause into his new contract……good work….

Naylor seems to think a deal will be sorted before the Summer series.

By saying his “future will be resolved” could he mean that by the summer series we’ll more confidently know if he’s going or whether he stays another year? Might not necessarily mean he definitely thinks a deal will be done.

But the cost of the transfers will spread over a longer period. Apparently the time over which Arsenal pay West Ham is one of the final things to negotiate with Arsenal wanting it spread over 4 years.

Doesn't matter how long Arsenal take to pay the actual cash. What counts in the books is the annual amorotisation, which is dependent on Rice's contract length - 5 years?

I take that to read:
Interested clubs you have a month. Happy to let Moises go but the price is the price and if you don't meet that by the start of the friendlies he stays.

It’s what the Albion say about any player. We’ve had PBOBE endlessly commit to the mantra that players will be allowed to move on if it’s right for the club and the valuation is met. Caicedo and Arsenal told no at Christmas @£70m. Not sure that MC leaving on the eve of our first foray into Europe is on the Exec teams to do list despite Barber’s bonhomie when replying to pundits questions about predatory clubs swooping.

It's starting to drag a bit now. I wish whichever club wants him just puts in the an offer we've advised them.

I know it's not that simple but Moises said he wants to leave, RDZ said he was leaving, we've said he can leave and we have previously down £60mil last season before giving him a new contract AND we've already and he wont go for less than £100mil....... therefore if you want him, put in a proper offer and show Moises you want to him.

Wouldn't mind Man United throwing in that Garnacho lad to try lower the cash layout but he's quite a confident lad who probably thinks he is miles above 'a club like us' and United probably see him a the future of the club. I've just Googled his wage though and apparently he's in line to get a new contract of £50k p/w up from 7k.
