For what it’s worth.

Sat very close to Tony Bloom at Lords this afternoon and overheard him talking to the group he was socialising with:

Caceido has reiterated his desire to leave the club in recent weeks.

TB values him at between £120-140m due his age and potential.

Unless that valuation is met he has no desire or willingness to sell. More than happy to keep him for a further season where he only sees his value increasing.

No offers on the table as of 3pm this afternoon but he’s expecting contact from Chelsea by the end of the week.

Also spoke about Saudi influence in the PL and his exact words were ‘they could offer me a Trillion dollars and I wouldn’t sell the Albion.’
Ok thanks for that pinocchio (y)

despite the bonkers price for inferior Rice, i predict Caceido will go for a lot less and there will be utter meltdown here when it happens. if he really wants to leave they wont hold out for top dollar if a decent offer is available, rather that or have a disgruntled player, or break the wage structure to keep him happy here.

I predict it’ll be ‘undisclosed’

That would place him in the top five most expensive transfers of all time. He's a very good player, but even £100m is a coup for us.

He wasn't even player of the season.

I rate him highly, but putting on neutral specs, £80m wouldn't be out of place.

Folk are getting carried away. I don't think Bloom rates him at the value, although I'd be surprised if he didn't try and see how close he can get to £100m

Well if Declan Rice is worth 100m+, with him being demonstrably worse than Caicedo whenever they've met on the pitch, I'd be disappointed to get less than that. HG player "tax" be damned.

Chelsea and Man U bidding off each other gives us the best hope to push up the price as far as possible.
Arsenal might come back too. Although their FFP situation is very interesting, I don’t know how they are getting round it with all these signings.

According to Transfermarkt, their transfer dealings amount to -£371m in the last FFP 3 year period, not including Rice of course. Getting to -£105m by this weekend seems a stretch for them but they have covid allowances (as does every team) plus big profits from their stadium ticket sales. Will that be enough?

Man U won't pay the kind of money we are after surely? Could be interesting this.

IDV have a 20% sell on as well which will drive the price up
