Roots? Places like Thornton Heath, Selhurst and Croydon didn't become London until the 1960s. They were in Surrey. That is why Palace are not automatically thought of as a London club.
Likewise, Brentford don't have a London post code.

If you care to read my previous post CPFC were formed in Crystal Palace which i believe has a postcode of SE19 and last time i looked was in London. The football club relocated to Selhurst at a later date. So the ROOTS of the club are where they were formed!
