My Dad started taking me to matches in '85.

In the corner between the north stand and all the arsenal fans in the east, quite scary for a small chap it was.

Oct 18 1969, V Luton Town, and we lost 1-2. I remember a fight in the North Stand, and Malcolm MacDonald playing for Luton.

Beat you by two weeks. But at least you got to see Brighton score at your first attempt, which is more than I did.

Oct 4 1969 v Bristol Rovers. We lost 0-3. Not a great start.

1989 Boxing day v Pompey. 0-0 and probably the worst game I have ever seen to this day. I loved it.

You've got a good memory. Boxing Day 1955. The previous season we had beaten them 4-1 at home as well. The day after Boxing Day 1955, we lost 1-0 - to Newport County. This was the season we finished second behind Leyton Orient on 65 points (94 in new money), scoring 112 goals and a goal difference of +72. We still didn't go up.

I made a point of looking that up in Tim Carder's book, because I thought we gave them a good hiding around that time. Lo and behold...
