If you have been going for 30+ years, I can't believe you've never witnessed such a pile of pooh.

Let's be realistic. Our team is far from perfect. I'm far from completely satisfied with McGhee. But surely to Baby Jesus our current side is better than it ever was between approx 1995 and 1998? I take it you didn't stop going to Gillingham because we were "a pile of pooh".

I've never had a season ticket and no, I don't go to every game. I go when I can -- but I don't decide against going to games just because we're on a losing run.

What's more, when I do go to matches, I get the feeling that the average Withdean crowd is more positive than the average keyboard warrior on NSC. For f***'s sake -- if you were going to give up you should have done it when we were nearly in the Conference, not when we should have been looking upwards.

I get what your saying. But last time i checked we lived in a democracy. You can't be forced to goto games and just hand over your cash for a sub standard service

What a bloody stupid reply. We are talking about our clubs future.Nothing more nothing less.

It's NOT a stupid answer - it's a fact. Some people will choose to stay away because of the standard of football.

No one's saying the club's not in financial dire straits. Strangely, when they asked the fans to raise millions by donating £250 people complained bitterly on here and not that many put their hand in their pocket !!!!

The club is nearly bankrupt. We are surviving by the skin of our teeth.
It's all well and good wanting the manager sacked (which most of the fans do by now) but we desperately need every penny to keep going until the court case is settled.

I think that is what algie is getting at.

It's simple then, bite the bullet and sack the manager.
Some people might go back then.

But most clubs are not fighting court cases and are 11 million in debt

Agreed about the court cases but there are plenty of clubs struggling financially.

I do get fed up of this "I'm a better fan than you" statements though. We're all fans but how much money and time we choose to invest is purely an individual choice - there is no measurement for how much of fan someone is. You either are or are not a fan of a particular club.

Some people simply want to see some decent football, i don't think that is too much to ask.

If your local takeaway gave you a shit meal every time, you wouldn't keep going back just so it didn't close would you? You'd expect the takeaway to do something in order to keep it's customers.

So what do you do when the takeaway closes down for good?

To be perfectly honest, i prefered going to the Priestfield each week compared to now.

If you honestly say that then I do wonder, this team is by no means the best Albion side but its a far better side than we had in those very dark days.

Likewise. At least you knew we were shit. It was near-delirium if we scraped a 0-0 against Scarborough.

I believe you get more action from the board by actually being there and booing rather than staying away.
That way the board knows the feeling of the fans and still get the money to keep the club alive.

It really is that desperate.

You have to hope they get their act together so it doesn't happen don't you. As it stands there are just about enough of us keeping it ticking over, it's upto the club to get the others back.

Yeah but back then we were just completely shite and losing. Not seeing a crap manager making a decent squad look like complete shite.

Why would you go and waste £20 odd quid like that?
The club is skint but you're saying that people should turn up religiously and waste their money just have a moan.
What about the people that go that are skint and want value for their money?
Do they count or is it all a 1 way thing?

That will never happen unless we play a good standard of football, and start winning games.

Some of us probably need our sanity checked for still going. Why would any normal person want to sit through that each week?

Value for money at a football match? When did you ever get value for money?

If you want value for money go shopping.

To keep the club alive. As I said previously, by all means show your displeasure at the game and the manager, but go.
