In my view, defining categories of supposed privilege by skin colour is generally lazy and divisive (also possibly racist in some circumstances).

I have been to many, many places. Including Wolverhampton. And I know a lot of people from many, many places. Including Wolverhampton. The UK is a relatively small place, esp England and it's not that inconceivable that on a board largely made up of people over the age of forty, that many of us will have seen a bit of the world. I know you think you are wildly exotic because you emigrated to Australia but it's not that unusual. My Grandmother moved there at aged 90 for **** sake! It ain't that much of an achievement. Even I'm considering moving there at some point.

It does prod at white people and therefore is a better reminder that it is still a disadvantage to be black in the UK, and that it isn't enough to just not be racist, we have to be anti racist, call it out and recognise that many of us will have a subconciuos bias that contributes to there being an imbalance and address it.

Now it may be the case that middle class dinner parties in some metropolitan areas are awash with white people self fladulating but I would suggest most white people outside that privileged bubble would tell you to do one .... rightly so.
