He was responding to questions by the Argus and had to give an explanation to Brighton fans about why he is letting Jarrett go. You can either agree or disagree with his explanation, but to say he has no right to say it is nonsense, I want to hear him talk honestly on the subject even if you don't - and that goes for the rest of you on here who are just using this for your usual boring McGhee whinge.

Well said, LI.

And i would like the players to come and talk honestly what they think about the manager - But they are hardly in the position to do that - it is a one way street, so MM should play fair and shut his oversized agressive gob and get on with the job of keeping competition for positions in a less public way.

It will be interesting to see in Boothroyd can get the potential that Albert has into a product on the pitch

What did he say about Jarrett that was so outrageous and unfair?

Oh f*** off. If he said nothing about why Jarrett was let go you'd be f***ing laying into him for lack of communication and so on yadda yadda yadda. Whatever MM does, you say he should have done the opposite. And when he then does that, you say he should have done the opposite again. It's pathetic.

Is there really any need to abuse some one for stating there opinion?

Sorry if i didn't make it clear enough for you but i said "he can say Albert is not fitting in with the way i want to play or some thing similar".

You have obviously got MM autograph and are star struck open your eyes he is just a bully.

I believe MM was wrong in his treatment of Albie. He had the potential to be a great asset to the Albion if we had persevered with him. He wasn't given a fair chance.

Hope he does really well and proves that MM is an idiot.

First thing I did on reading this... check the poster's name. I just assumed it was an Easy 10 wind-up. IN fact, I'm still not sure...

Albert Jarrett? IN the Premiership? Really..?

He is implying that young Albert is stupid and also saying CKR head is f***ed up.

My suggestion is he treats them like kids, he slags them publicly and is inconsistent in the way he treats them.

I am sure all anyone wants is a consistent manager that can keep his opinions of his players behind closed doors.

So LI why is it we have had so many players that just don't appear to want to play ball with this manager?

???

No he isn't - he is saying that Jarrett wasn't able to work on his weaknesses through listening to coaching. And he is saying something similar about CKR.

It is understandable you have to make up these quotes from McGhee to get outraged, isn't it? Because they don't actually exist, just in your head.

Don't think it has been that many - it is a normal situation at all clubs for players to fall out of favour and leave. It's only paranoid McGhee haters like you who think this only happens at Brighton.

What I will say though is that because of our lack of finances, we've had to take a few chances on players with bad reputations. Jarrett fits into that category perfectly, he arrived with a rotten reputation after being got rid of by Wimbledon but beggars can't be choosers, we took a chance that we could get through to him. It didn't work out, his behaviour pattern repeated itself, but McGhee is not to blame for that.

Just what did he say that was out of order? He didn't slag him off just told it as it is. Can any of you realistically disagree with what he said?

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
In his efforts at the club Jarrett was just a poor mans Leon Knight without the ability.

By all accounts when he bothered in training it was a rare occasion, and if not it was just the usual antics from the element of players who were there for the money, or to arse about and then off back to London ASAP.

No loss, and NOT the managers fault, his and others attitude is a disease at most clubs these days.

The only reason i would hate a manager of Brighton and Hove Albion was if

We hardly managed a win during a full season.
Made repeatedly bad substituitions
He publicly humiliated players to the Media.
Freeze out what i percieve to be our no1 keeper at a crucial stage of our season.
Made excuse after excuse and still be left with him in charge.

People like yourself who feels he has not put a foot wrong should wake up and get your head out of his backside.

He does not want to be the Albion manager and will be gone like a shot if anyone comes calling, like i said "if".

If the MM in gang keep starting threads about him they are going to get opinions so can i suggest if they feel they feel everthing is so rosy they should not post these threads.

Saying all that i said i would not be allowed to be dragged back into these discussions and will from today not mention my feelings on the man untill he has left or been sacked.

Rubbish. Jarrett was/is his own worst enemy. He was given every chance and he blew it. His high level of skill, at times, is undeniable. His attitude, however, sucks. He had this problem at Wimbledon, and he hasn't shaken it off here.

I hope for his sake he does really well. But that statement is made up of two parts, neither of which are linked to the other.

Jarrett, Knight and CKR.

Might it not be that MM just cannot handle certain players?

Just because a player thinks highly of himself it doesn't make him either a bad player or a liability to the team.

p.s can someone please explain what Jarrett did that was so bad?
