Berkshire, I agree about being paid to perform, if my performance drops below what is expected then I will find out about it very quickly. I am however fortunate to work within an organisation that does offer greater security in its contracts, and fortunately a good level of remuneration, I would however be grateful if you don't use the word "shot" in that context, it makes me very nervous...

... without divulging my precise occupation, I might add that I am more likely to get shot through bad luck, stupidity or the negligence of others...

I believe the highest paid member of our squad is on about 4K per week.
Not every player will be on anything like that.

Compare that to Trevor Benjamin who is on 17K a week at Leicester and then moan about us getting new players.

On NSC for over two decades...
Relax people, a few players have gone, some have been offered new contracts of varying lengths depending on whether McGhee thinks he might need to offload them or not in a years time. We will sign a few new players I'm sure.

We're in a better position going into this new season than we were last time we got promoted. The young players have a season of regular football, the senior players know what it takes to stay up in this division from their experience last time, and we start the season with the same manager as we finished the last one. The only difference in terms of playing staff is that we don't have Zamora and Brooker, and we should have Jolly and Blackwell available from the start as opposed to from a quarter of the way through the season. Relax, we're better prepared this time.

I'm not so sure we will have Blackwell.

He told me at Cardiff that when he starts training his knee starts swelling again.
On the official site it is stated he is going to see a specialist again.

Jolly is going back into full training again.

Yorkie - of course it matters if we go down... less money, less chance of retaining manager / players, more chance of empty seats... what's the point of supporting a team if you don't want them to do well, i.e. at least avoid relegation, in the forthcoming season...

We need to invest in our squad... in fact, in our 1st team... and it wasn't only Rodger and Blackwell last time in div one... we had Sidwell and Ingamarsson (SIC) for much of that season... and we still went down... not only that, The Championship is a far stronger division than div one was 2 seasons ago...

As MM says, we mustn't panic, but we MUST get the cheque book out...

My honest prediction is we will get relegated with 0 points

Daft bat :lolol: :lolol:

We relegated by October last time.

When we did get going we were mid table standard.
We had players like Butters and Kitson who were not fit to play.

Sidwell was only with us from Nov to Feb. Ingimarsson didn't arrive until March.

We will get some good loans in, I am sure.

I wouldn't enjoy the Ipswich match knowing we had 0 points and you had to give me a ton at the final whistle. I would explode with excitement and you'd get away with it again

Ernest - stop making any excuse in the books.

£100 bet or not, you think we'll get 0 points all season and I say no.

All the evidence is in this thread - are you a man of your word or not ?

You know I'm a man of the highest integrity, I just cannot take your money off you.
Think of your little kiddies crying saying why isn't Daddy taking us to Butlins and you have to say sorry kiddies but I've given it to Ernest as I was foolish enough to doubt his wisdom.
