Never a red. Was expecting to see some sort of genuine PUNCH from comments on here - was hardly worth talking about and happens all the time in football. Joke red. Well done 4th official / Burnley bench

John Aldridge's autobigraphy tells how he used to always do an "off the ball" as he could get away with it as it couldn't be a foul unless the ref saw it. He was once red carded as his elbow was covered in blood and he couldn't wipe it off in time. Hard to believe this was in my lifetime with football today.

Not saying it was right mind you.

Clearly the way to have brought it to the referee's attention whilst avoiding a booking himself would have been to have grabbed Bartley and pinned him to the floor by his throat.
