Compared to what he earned with Valencia what is a year at Brighton going to do for his bank balance, and what is it compared to what he could have got if he'd chosen to go to Liecester, or Blackburn? Exactly, not because of money. So not to take the piss, surely. Valencia didn't offer him anything but he's just finished a contract he signed when he was one of the top players in the world, so the idea of him coming here just to sit on the stones laughing at us and picking up his paycheque doesn't make a lot of sense.
