Agreed - some very deluded posters. If Potter wouldn’t go to Chelsea then where ? I’m pretty sure Brighton isn’t the height of his ambition.

The only slight doubt would be the Aubameyang signing. Very disruptive and could be difficult to manage, and I doubt Potter could drop him easily

If Chelsea want him, he'll obviously go. The money they'd offer would be ridiculous.

The only thing in our favour is they may think of him as too much of a risk. They will want someone who will guarantee CL football. Surely they'd go for a bigger name, like Poch?

The immediate logic suggests they go straight to Poch or Zidane etc

However, the unknown in all this is Boehly. For all we know he may not fit the mould of normal top 6 chairmen who only look short term. Boehly may look at the success of Klopp and think he’ll tolerate a year or two without success in order to build an empire.

If Chelsea do want to speak to GP, I’m certain he will want to listen to what they have to say. The very fact that they are offering him the job as opposed to a proven CL manager suggests strongly they are looking to build for the longer term.

So in my mind it goes ….

Chelsea formally talk to GP about the job = 30% chance
Chelsea offer GP the job = 25% chance
GP takes job = 20% chance

He’ll go .
The successful set up at the Albion is deeper than any one person.
We will be fine .

If they decide they really want Potter, he will go. No doubt.

Exactly. Chances for #ManagersLikePotter to jump into that top echelon come along very, very rarely indeed. The big clubs have a magnetic draw to big names, often a bit exotic sounding and with a Champions League track record.

IMHO and if I'm proved wrong fair enough, but I think he will hold out for England, when and if Southgate fails.

Hmmm... can't see Potter wanting to work - from a distance - with other coaches' players at all. Certainly not at this stage in his career.

Also don't think he'd like the media intrusion, especially while he has young kids.

More of an issue than some think if Chelsea are interested. Would be very hard for GP to turn down if Chelsea come knocking as he will know he won’t get too many opportunities to manage a Champ league club! Will get a massive pay rise, be set for life and will back himself to be a success. Probably wouldn’t need to uproot the family.
If we went 6 or 7 games without a win his stock will diminish and the opportunity is gone.

Hope he stays but think we may be looking for a new manager very soon!

I mean there is a disadvantage between running along the Kings Road with a hoody up as torunning along Hove seafront with a hoody up

Make that 80% for the last one. No way will he not take it. People need to remove the blue and white specs.

They work on statistics now which is why they invested heavily in Cucurella and Fofana he would get time from the owner as it would be his man.

If Potter were offered the job he'd be crazy to turn it down. Even if it went really badly, he could still have his pick of about 15 PL jobs when available.

Potter has got rid of every prima donna player at Brighton. Every one now Andone has gone. Will he go go to a club which only has prima donna players who allegedly don't want to take on new ideas.
