With Schelotto's dive, I'm not sure we're in any position to be criticising Kane or Alli for going down.

Schelotto's dive was a method actor's dive rather than a pantomime dame's.

And yet we have one win in the last eight matches. Sadly that is relegation form.

Actually, given the expected points tally from Giraffe's fantastic measurement thread: http://nortr3nixy.nimpr.uk/show...racker-season-2019-2020-Game-16-UPDATE/page36 it is a point above what we were expected to get from the last eight games if we are to get 40 points and avoid relegation. We were only expected to get 1 from Palace and 3 from Sheff Utd, instead we got the three from Arsenal and got an extra one from Wolves.

We fans need to avoid getting too despondent from not picking up a lot of points from a very tough run of fixtures. We have played six of the current top eight in our last eight matches. The other two were an away derby and an away game against one of the big six. At this stage, we are struggling to make the step from relegation battlers to become mid table also-rans. A lot of the performances have been good enough to perhaps get points and it's disheartening that we didn't get them. However a lot of these have been games that the wider world of football would have given us no chance in. Not winning them doesn't make us awful.

To be fair I think this season 38-40 points will be needed to stay up. While Norwich and Watford have a lot of ground to make up there's no stand out other side for relegation. Teams who we thought would struggle like Newcastle and Burnley continue to grind out wins.

It does seem like the most competitive EPL ever.

As it stands Bournemouth are beating Arsenal and Soton are beating Chelsea. Watford are also beating Sheffield United.

Having seen the highlights back, Kane’s goal really is super fortunate. To get that rebound tee’d up naturally for his right foot.

And if Connolly took his chance to make it 2-0. Oof.

Spurs are trash ... We really should have got a draw today. Disappointing.

Yes, super lucky - not one but two rebounds: the first off Stephens straight into his path, the second off Ryan’s save.

There was a 10 minute period in the second half where just about every deflection and bounce favoured Spurs, but hey ho shit really does happen, the other results so far today have not favoured us either
