It sounds awful to live in a swing-state. What i was reading was the account of one woman being telephoned 12 times in an evening on average by political convincers, until she pulled the plug from its socket. And also with adverts on tv every 5 minutes, there'd be nothing but party political broadcasts slagging off their opponents. So you're told for two and a half minutes that Obama is a commie and then 5 minutes later that Romney is a hater of the poor (which of course we know to be true). Politics themselves go out the window and it's all handbags at 20 paces for a month or 2. I imagine a large number of people just won't it over with so the bullying will stop.

I of course wish for Obama to retain his seat, and, if possible, get to meet a promise or two he made 4 years back.

Situations like that where maybe no campaigning can get you the vote.

But also good to be in a swing state so Candidates makes promises just for your area

60% of the American people are unhappy with their choice of presidential candidates. Of the 30-32% of Americans who elect the President, about half of these dislike both candidates and vote for "the lesser of 2 evils". = 16% of the American people vote for the President of the United States.

Britain "Marginal Constituency"
US "Swing State"

There's a microcosm, right there....

bit OT but there's a Romney connection. I watched this video the other day and it's pretty interesting (be warned there's some pretty gruesome images at the start).

but that's a sour loser ranting. if true, since he polled about 10% amongst Republicans, and they make up about a 3rd of the US electorate, only 3.33% would vote for him, or 1.5% if half vote for "the lesser of 2 evils".

It seems you're not the only one:-

Tim Minchin &#8207 Timminchin
... Please, dear Americans, go & vote. And please vote for Obama. Or vote against Romney. Whichever you prefer. Please. The world needs YOU.

Peter Jones ‏@PeterJones40 Timminchin Why don't you make that into a musical? You could call it 'None of my f***ing business.' Nice eye liner.

Tim Minchin &#8207 Timminchin
Cos it'd be a shit musical. Let me assure you, the outcome of the US election is very much the world's business, sadly.

Peter Jones ‏@PeterJones40
I'm curious. Is it just Romney you don't like, or any Republicans? I've rarely come across so much illogical dislike of anyone.

Tim Minchin &#8207 Timminchin
I'm liberal, socialist, secularist, pro-LGBT equality, anti-war. Thus I'm anti-Romney. And anti-you, as it turns out. Xxx
