I have been using late in-play football bets, is Rattan a total cert with only 2 to be placed?
Three places would have been better, but he's the best horse in the race by some margin.
He'd only fail to place if something went badly wrong, but these things do happen.

Problem is it's all about luck, nothing is a cert, I will lose here sooner or later. My target figure is a long way short of £10,000 but I doubt I will get close

Well best of luck, I would say anything like a few hundred would be a great result. That's probably when I'd bottle it anyway. Depends how much the money means to you and whether you look at it like "well I've only lost a tenner" if you do lose.
