The award-winning official "More snow tomorrow?" thread [2012-13 season]

The charts have too much divergence for 7/9 days out for my liking & appear to take a 'warmer' consensus than the data I am looking at. In summary from next Weds onwards there will be a very cold & dry Due Easterly straight off of the Russian Steppes
Last night I bet on the coldest day of the winter being this side of 15 Jan & within hours the book was taken down, so maybe others have done the same

Looking good for a cold snowy set up on the South Coast from next Thursday. Hard to say if it will bring snow, but fingers crossed.

Point taken... If you want to know about every posible snow chance - keep a watch on the forecast for Friday morning... it's possible we might get something then, but it's going to start as rain, so the ground will start wet.

So, anyone got snow this morning - there's plenty of precipitation about, and low temps?

I don't want it to snow as I go on holiday on the 18th and the English are shit with dealing with snow and the airport will more than likely close

Yes, the models have taken an all to familiar wobble in the last 24 hours.

It will still be cold, but not a classic Easterly (unless they flip back), but it could be snowier, as it's much more messy; but it will be marginal at times.

As you will be aware, rain in Worthing but it is now colder than it was at 7 this morning.

There's some colder air being dragged down by the remanants of the low, as it pulls away E; plus the sky has taken on a more yellow look, a bit more snowy looking... (at least from my office, whilst WFH)

No chance of snow in Worthing, doesn't feel cold enough to me. Plenty of rain looking clouds about though.

In fact it is now drizzling rain, not snow. Rubbish. Come on Worthing sort it out.

We had a bit of snow fall at around 5am this morning, was on my way home from the Library, nothing settled though.

Bloody hope it doesn't snow too badly the back end of next week, got a pre-booked train to get home for christmas, and don't fancy being subject to delays and cancelations in the freezing cold and a huge suitcase.

Could be a bit iffy by then.

Things beginning to look interesting end of next week with the threat of LP's coming in from the Atlantic which will readily turn to snow! Obviously it depends on how far North east the LP's go as to how much (if any) warm air gets over us so that it'll turn the snow to rain.

However that is a long way off and could well change! What does seem set in stone is snow showers from Tuesday onward towards the end of week. How much won't be known until probably Monday! Troughs and bands of snow can form very quickly in this type flow, so keep an eye on here for the latest and from the Weatherman.
