my thought also. The batsmen slipped on previous ball as well.
Difficult for the bowlers as well with the wet ball. Bangladesh staying in it.

...

or not, another wicket down. Bangladesh need Shakib to stay in and for someone to stay with him.

All fallen apart for Bangladesh. They needed that rain delay to last a little longer, get that target down further.

21 from 9. Taskin Ahmed with two big blows to get 10 from the first 3 balls of the second last over.

Two dot balls to end the over. Bangladesh need 20 from 6.

Edit: need 11 from 3.

Edit: 7 from 1. A 6 gets a super over.

Edit: just the 1 off the final ball, India seal the win. Well played Bangladesh, just lost too many wickets after the rain delay.

Bangladesh properly f***ed over by the weather, and the officials' decisions around it.

Still - the ICC, sponsors and TV companies will be relieved that India will now make the semi-finals.

Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat v Saffers.

An absolute must win for the side batting first to have any chance of progressing.

Great comeback by the great come back team.
Knock over South Africa and beat Bangladesh on Sunday. Then just need Holland to beat South Africa or India to lose to Zimbabwe...... 50/1 T20 Winners. Not even I'm taking that.

Rain after 9 overs. South Africa behind the DLS score after losing 2 wickets in the 8th over (both of the set batsmen).

Game is back on. South Africa target is now 142 off 14 overs. Current required run rate is nearing 15 per over.

Edit: Pakistan win and retain a (slim) hope of making the semis.

NZ give Ireland a good seeing to, now a match that England will be keeping an eye on.

Afghanistan won the toss and decided to have a bowl v The Sandpaper Gang.

I think NZ have booked their place in the semis this morning. it would take a pair of truly remarkable games for their NRR to be overtaken by both Australia and England.
Edit: NZ have qualified. Australia cannot overtake their NRR.

And so on to the Australia vs Afghanistan game. Australian innings complete at 168/8 from 20. Looked like they could have scored plenty more than that, but Afghanistan bowled really well in the final 5 overs to restrict Australia to just 35 runs in that period of play. To me, it feels like Australia don't have enough on the board to win by enough to make England sweat. The Aussie bowlers will need to come out firing and blow Afghanistan away for a very low total.

145 from Afghanistan here essentially means we’d not need to worry about run rate, and concentrate just on the win tomorrow.

Do they need to get as close as that??

Listening on TMS this morning, they suggested that Australia needed to win this by around 50 runs, just to get their NRR up to England's as it stands.

And obviously, by definition, ANY England win tomorrow improves the NRR to some extent.

Afghanistan have made an aggressive start. Australia needs to create a massive collapse and end the innings promptly or they'll be going out.

IMO at the moment it's far more likely that England goes into tomorrow's game knowing that a win seals their semi spot.

Edit: and right as I post that, Aus get the man who's been giving them headaches so far. Is the collapse coming?
