Sixth best fourth-wicket stand ever for Sussex.

326* - James Lagridge & G Cox Jr v Yorkshire 1949
303* - Alan Wells & Colin Wells v Kent 1987
281 - James Langridge & TER Cook v Surrey 1930
266 - James Langridge & G Cox Jr v Lancashire 1939
259* - James Langridge & DV Smith v Notts 1950
257 - CJ Adams & MW Goodwin v Yorkshire 2006

But NOT their best stand together. That was 267 for the third wicket against Leicestershire. You know, the one where Murray ended up 335*.

Brighton
479 for 7 at close of play.

A lead of 241 runs.

Looks like Yasir Arafat can bat a bit too, 40 not out off 56 balls.

And at stumps on Day 2

Yorkshire 238
Sussex 479/7
Arafat 40*
Kirtley 6*

Bonus points: Sussex 8, Yorkshire 3

Sussex scored 427 runs today for the loss of five wickets, Murray Goodwin the star of the day with his magnificent 235 off 322 balls, together with Chris Adams' 107 off 176 balls, the pair putting on a fourth wicket partnership of 257. Sussex, with three first innings wickets remaining, lead by 241.

Eat that.
