Isn't it all a bit pointless. Will a poll like this make any difference to the outcome

No. Just before the 2005 LDC meeting at which Tim Carder and I were making a nuisance of ourselves by presenting a massive petition and asking awkward public questions, the Sussex Express ran a poll on the subject of the Council's stance. David Neighbour made the point that LDC were "winning" the vote - a situation which was mainly explained by the fact that only about half a dozen people had known about the poll, and one that was later turned round within minutes of NSC getting on the case.

The final result was about 85% in our favour.

Thanks LB. Guess, as was then, that this won't cut any ice with the myopic BANANAS in LDC.

I can't help thinking that such an incorrect and entrenched stance by certain councillors there has something more sinister behind it!!

Why else would they risk their seats in such a cavalier fashion?
