is he stupid for his comments regarding his wage increase? absolutely.
Do Premier players get paid too much? For what they actually do, yes, but in terms of the money being generated by what they do, no - because they're the ones who result in all the money being raised.
Should more money come down to the lower leagues? ideally
Does that provide a ready-made excuse for clubs to mis-manage their finances? certainly not
