Do people do that - nominate their favourite player for a season before a ball is kicked?

Am I a freak for not doing so?

Calm down! The name came about when he was fat. Now we all recognise what an important player he is. I will continue to call him Fat Nav, not because I think he is rubbish but because I like the name. You were one of many on here who thought he was crap to begin with, so stop with all this Navarro is my favourite player anyone who disagrees is a 'nuptie'(?) nonsense.

I do actually think he became a bit overrated by the end of the season though. People went from one extreme to the other, probably because he was so unbelievably dire to start with that once he was playing quite well it seemed much better than it was.

that is rule 1 of who NSC works

rule 2 is something like "no two players in the same sort of position can be brilliant or rubbish at the same time. It HAS to be one or the other"

Also he looked very, very good in comparison with Arismendi who replaced him in some games toward the end of the season. This may explain the 'hype'.

Well, no!

I'm not saying his crap, 90% of people can't be wrong, but I seem to be blind and full of anger when it comes to him

And I only missed a handful of games over the entire season, so I have seen him play almost every time

I never really rated Navarro until our shambolic midfield played without him at Gillingham, key man.

Players like Navarro are only noticed when they are not on the team. You really miss them when they are injured.

I like "adopt" a player for the seaon and back them to the high hill despite great shitness in some games. Im sure others do it. It seems NSC are more likely to pick the weak link, slagging off that player and people jumping on the band waggon.

I have adopted Waldo Ponce in the World Cup. Navarro and Calderon last season, and Jimmy Mac before that
