Yep, up all night as I am on the count!

I think people may have a surprise coming. Historically the average Tory voter is older than the rest, and these people are less likely to tell any polling organisation their preference. Although the polls show a likely hung parliament I think the Tories will edge it.

Why do you think some big names will bite the dust Pav? There would have to be a massive Tory swing to unseat most of the cabinet members - and that's not suggested by the opinion polls.

It's true that Jacqui Smith will certainly go and possibly Charles Clarke, but are these big names any more.

Do you know something we don't?

If charles clarke goes that could mean a possible victory for the greens, as they appear to be the main challenger in his constiuency.

I'll certainly try and watch as much as possible, despite my sinking feeling the tories are going to nick it there is still hope of a more interesting outcome.

I will be at work at 8am in the morning working on our paper's deadline. Then from 9pm that night heading to cover the count. Then back in the office about 4am to write a four page supplement. Then back to the count to cover the results of the borough council election from about midday.

GREAT.

I'll be staying up until 3-ish I recon as I have the Friday off. I just want to be up for long enough to have a god idea of what the result is going to be.

Well I finish work at 2am, so might aswell stay up.

I have some grub in. I might get bored and go to bed, but I like the idea of it. I think my parents are staying up for it aswell, so it'd be a bit of a laugh.

I think it's all rather exciting; people complain it's dull but so is every f***ing series of X Factor and that's every w/e for half the year rather than once every 5 years. Besides all the people I know who are saying what's the point are, well, lets say they're hardly in charge at my place of work. Half of 'em don't know it's VE day this w/e or who Winston Churchill was. Well he's the f***er who ensures you're not speaking German for starters you dumb-arse plebs; and VE day's the day we ensured we can cotinue to live in a democracy still. Non Voters because they can't be bothered deserve their heads examining. To think that all those old boys parading this Saturday in Whitehall fought for half the w*****s in this country, well, they must feel ashamed at the contempt to voting shown by some of our fellow citizens in this country.

On a lighter note, for the first hour channel 4's alternative election night has got off to a cracking start. V.funny. Charlie Booker, David Mitchell and Jimmy Carr are 4 of the best sarchy bastards this country has ever produced. Love 'em!

If memory serves me well of previous result nights, are there not certain results that the experts say give an indication of which way the result will go as they always vote in the MP of the party that wins.
