Dean Wilkins/Ray Wilkins partnership
Danny Wilson
Steve Cotterill (unlikely I know)

Someone with an affinity with the club would be nice.

Dennis Wise could be a good option, Holloway would get my backing (look at their slide since he left) and Nigel Clough would be great. Wasn't he pictured in the Goldstone dug out as a boy?

Bollocks to the 'affinity with the club' tosh

I want someone who is tactically astute, with some solid contacts in the game, other than that, I dont give a toss who it is

Nigel Clough could be persuaded. He has shown himself to be tactically astute and I suspect he has a fair few contacts from his Forest/Liverpool days. Collymore to lead the line, anyone? :jester:

If and when it happens, we would need to be looking at someone not under contract.

Paying two lots of compensation in one summer would ensure a bugger all money to strengthen.

I heard Holloway is a contender, but Id prefer Dean Wilkins with Ray as number 2. Reckon if he doesnt get a chance hell be off to a prem club to manage their acadamy.

Good point, but if you thought you had the right man for the job, spending the extra money might be worth it in the long run

Somersetshire
Brian Clough

Bill Shankly

Jock Stein.

All as likely as many mentioned here.

Or Mark McGhee, who nearly made a silk purse from a sows ear.Directors are as daft as the rest of us,and whoever manages will be hogtied by the prevailing circumstances."Names" wouldn't touch the job with a barge pole and we'd end up with a Richard Money type.

Loud shouts of "Who?"

Couldn't even be persuaded to come here for experience when his old man wanted him to spend a loan spell down here when he was on the fringes of the Forest 1st team.

Not a single person mentioned so far inspires me except may Simpson, but he won't be coming here.

I understand where you're coming from. The only reason I say this is we have had three managers quit for other clubs in the past five or six seasons. If the club was in their heart they may have stayed.

Well Taylor was very wise to tell DK to find somebody else to work on the budget, wouldn't you say, in retrospect?

What about Steve Claridge ? In the short time he was at Millwall and Pompey he did okay and he does know the score here.
