I'm sure these Muslim organisations are SAYING all the right things, but are they DOING the right things?

I listen to the radio, watch the news, Newsnight, Question Time etc, and I'm not convinced that the Muslims I've heard are as outraged as non-Muslims about the anti-social acts and words we've seen.

The Abu Hamza case is typical. Any sane Muslim organisation would have pressured the government to get this guy kicked out of Britain for the harm he was doing to Christian-Muslim relations.

OK, its not representitive, but I heard a Muslim leader on Five Live yesterday refusing to outright condem the protesting suicide bomber, and again on BBC London news on telly last night there was a guy in the studio who looked extremely plausable and spoke a lot of sense until he started saying how he sympathised with the way young British muslims feel about world events (not just the recent cartoon).

What I cant understand is why they feel that way ?

They live in a democratic society that respects and even encourages their culture, as for that matter so does the vast majority of the civilised world.

I'm not a Blair fan, but he does seem to genuinely want to do the right thing in the Middle East, and keep all faiths happy, so even before the Iraq war (as it seems that this is nothing new) why do a percentage of young british muslims feel so bitter about the country the live in ?

Both the people I mentioned that I heard and watched yesterday sounded/looked intelligent, respectful and believable, and had good things to say, but, both kept coming back to this 'I can sympathise with the way young British muslims feel, and understand why some support radical groups'.

Why is that ? I could understand if they lived in a society that persecuted them for their faith, but thats simply not true.

If LI is so pro Multiculturalism can we have his endorsment of Scottish immigration to Ulster?

Why does the BBC refer to the "Prophet Mohammed" and not the Muslim Prophet Mohammed?

I guess the issue is whether they are saying they understand or endorse. I understand that people may have strong feelings about Chechyna, Kashmir, Israel, etc and they may also feel marginalised within British society. That is a very different thing from endorsing the murder of one's fellow citizens or supporting religious fascism.

I agree with you looney not over keen on other religions as well.

I am into the thoughts of OSHO. He wasn't keen on religion but was spiritual as well. Buddhism is OK as it cannot really be called a religion more of a philosophy

IMO muslims are not very tolerant in general, especially young men. They want it their way, its what islam says.

Don't know about that but having worked with a lot of Moslems, Hindus and Sikhs over the years I do sort of get the iimpression that Moslems look down on ''non believers'. There 's no doubt that they really don't like Hindus or Sikhs much and in my experience they don't like Afro Carribeans at all.

Ah well done, taking the moral high ground I see :lolol:

I notice you are refusing to say if your wanking habits are multicultural? I'm willing to bet this is your GUILTY LITTLE SECRET! Denouncing races mixing by day, spilling your sack over the coffee-coloured mamas by night :)

My only regret is that I've spent so much time addressing the most racist organ in your body, your brain, when all along you've been stroking and pleasuring your most anti-racist organ with lots of pictures of Asian babes!
Just as I said, you've quoted one line, and you've deceided to go down the route of a frighten child to avoid the issues, and would prefer to discuss my wanking habits then, answer a straight forward question, asked whether or not you are on the side of the BNP.

And just so everyone knows, the reason LI has gone onto wanking, other than the fact he trying to avoid the question I asked,is because he said at 14 years old was reading Tony Benns book about politics in WH Smith, and I said most 14 year olds would be trying to work out how to buy a porno in WH Smith.:smokin:

I take it that fact you can't or won't answer the question, means that you do if fact support and recruit for the BNP, and your dribble you post, and the attacks you make to people in most replies you make, are in fact intended to drive people away from the left, and towards the BNP.

Well done... you had me fooled for a while.

And your reply above, I think that backs up my point nicely.

London Irish is a racist. Pure and simple. Ask him a question that he doesn't want to answer, and he tries to change the subject to wanking habits. Just check out the last few posts from him.

Hardly surprising that there should be contradictions and inconsistencies, given the time between the events and when they were written down. You get yourself and your mates to write down your accounts of, say, the 1991 playoff final against Notts Co and you can bet your life there will be contradictions and inconsistencies. Doesn't mean you weren't there, it doesn't mean the final never happened. Despite the differences, you will most likely have the final score right - or at least the fact we didn't win. It is a bit of a jump to take those 'errors' in MMLJ&A and say they mean Jesus did or did not say anything, although personally I tend to agree with you to some extent. And, of course, even if Jesus didn't say he was the Son of God, that doesn't mean he wasn't!

So you agree that practicing homosexuals should be executed then?

Placcy may put his point over in a condecending and superior way, but I dont think anyone would, or indeed could acuse him of being racist.

Its a bit like saying 'Mark McCammon is clearly the most gifted striker we have at the club' i.e PATENTLY a load of bollocks.

I have a lot of Hindu and Sikh friends and there certainly is no love lost between them and the Moslems.

I may be drivel if he did answer the question I put to him a number of times on this thread. But like I say, he picks and chooses what he answers to.

What have I been ducking?
