Being pretty slow on the up take, I've just noticed Skyfall is released next Friday which is my day off.

I'm now all booked up for the 10:45am showing.

I'll even get to watch it before Kermode's review, assuming he doesn't do it this week.

Looking forward to this greatly. Daniel Craig IS Bond.

Ruthless killer, pisses all over Moore, Brosnan and...whisper it...Connery. Personally I loved Quantum of Solace (I think I might be the only one who did) the fight to the death in the hotel room, the Aston Martin car chase in Italy...marvellous scenes.

BRING IT ON

Been looking forward to this with great expectations ever since the credits rolled on the RUBBISH Quantum of Solace. The heartbreak that film gave me after the elation brought on by Casino Royale was tangible.

THIS has all the hallmarks of an absolute CLASSIC, and not just within the Bond series. Director, Art Director (or cameraman or something, he did Shawshank), Cast are all amazing. The girls looks a bit shit, but who cares?
Initial reviews have got me frothing at the penis.

Daniel Craig is a brilliant Bond, has the making of a Connery

I totally agree.
But I had another look at Question Of Sport a few weeks ago.

When completely removed from the deflation of expectation.
When you already know the baddy is a utilities company.
Now that I was prepared for horrendous product placement.

It wasn't as bad as I remembered it.

How glowing is that, they should have put it on the poster.

8 of us 'big kids' booked for the 8pm show on Friday, babysitters all lined up, can't wait.

Casino Royal was awesome, seen it 4 times. Only sat through Queen of the South once, totally forgettable.

Craig is just about fit to lace connerys shoes. If skyfall is as good as it promises to be and then there is another just as good or better then maybe they can be bracketed as equals. BUT NOT YET.

Tho he ia better than the others but I would have like to see more of dalton because he wanted to do what craig did amd strip him back to the fleming version hence licence to kill got a 15 cert for the violence and virtually no gadgets etc

Went to see Looper last night, that's a great film.

However the Skyfall trailer came on. I mean why show the whole bloody film in the trailer. I had to look away from the screen when I realised what they were doing.

Talk about trying to spoil the whole film for everyone.

Got tickets at the Odeon on Saturday and they are reserved seating so hopefully no binfest (afterall, it isn't an away game!)

Have to say that Craig is, in my opinion the best Bond and Dalton would be 2nd or 3rd. Whether my view would have been different had Connery been filmed using modern techniques, who knows. When all is said and done, Lazenby remains at the bottom (even David Niven was better than him!)

I have heard all the gushing early reviews and the trailer looks very good too. However, I did hear one journo complaining of a Bond " love in " at the press screening and that he felt it was ok but not that brilliant. It could be the Emperor's New Clothes or just a sad old hack who wants to be controversial.

However, I will wait and listen out for Mark Kermode's review and, even if he disses it, I'll probably still go as Craig has reinvented Bond. You really would not want to have a road rage with Daniel Craig in character !

I also heartily agree about Tim Dalton's Bond, he really was quite good and didn't get the credit he deserves, currently my top 3 Bonds,

1, Connery

2, Craig

3, Dalton.

Me and the brother have tickets booked at Imax in Cineworld Saturday morning as I work Friday evenings.

Was SO disappointed after watching Quantum of Solace, but if Skyfall gets close to Casino Royale they will have done well. Can't wait!

Just booked up myself for next Friday for Mrs TTF my youngest daughter who is 15 on the very same day and myself. Love Bond, the current non stop wall to wall films on Sky 303 are great!

I remember coming out of Casino Royale.
Some dad had taken his young daughter, proper young not 15, and she looked like she'd shat herself and was clinging onto him, ashened face.

1) Craig
2) Brosnan
3) Not fussed, Dalton or Connery.

I am old enough to know better, but I don't think Connery's Bond has aged as well as people think.

But its recognised that OHMSS is the closest to the novels followed by FRWL.

In fact the first three Moores and Goldeneye are also rather good.

IMHO in no particular order

Dr No
FRWL
Goldfinger
Thunderball
YOLT
OHMSS
DAF
LALD
TMWTGG
SWLM
Living Daylights
Licence to Kill
Goldeneye
Casino Royale

Are the best. The others are frankly not very good.

Its all about opinions but Connery is still head and shoulders above everyone else. HOWEVER like I say if Skyfall is as good as it promises to be and with one more great film under his belt which he is contracted for (could be two more actually) then Craig can be his EQUAL.

But not yet.

I've read most if not all of the books, and frankly other than the name Bond, there isn't a great deal the same between book and film.

Quantum of Solace put me off this one, but everything I've heard about it has got me back on board - namely that it's one of if not THE best Bond films ever
