He's out of contract. the transfer window is open, and he's got one deal on the table. Can't really be suprised that he is looking around to see is any beter offers come along.............

Reckon he`ll be released this week, will look elsewhere, probably get offered nothing (at least nothing better anyway), then the question is having saved a month`s wages, do we offer him a lower deal / similar deal to return?....my guess is damage will be done and opinion (in AND out the club) split with majority against the idea...guess it also depends who if anyone else we can attract to fill his place.
