Rumour - BBC want to show first game at the AMEX live

I don't want to sound like a grumpy git but I still don't really understand what significance the game has to people if they're not actually at the stadium.

Hopefully (and more likely imo) the TV cameras will come down when we play Portsmouth, Southampton or Palace.

based upon previous seasons, the championship always kicks off with a live game at 12.00 on the Saturday.

Why not televise it?

There are thousands of Albion fans all over the country that want to at least feel a part of the opening day.

Some have moved away, some have family commitments they never had before and cannot justify a season ticket, lets face it you are going to need to be a personal friend of jesus to get one of the tickets on general sale.

and the last time i looked, the name of the stadium has got "community" in it. in my opinion the Albion community is not just the season ticket holders.

And i am a season ticket holder so i will be there whatever day/time its on.

Nah this season it all started on a friday with Norwich vs Watford on the telebox
