well hasnt the poor womans running up and down the line career been destroyed didnt you say.

i find it hard to believe that anyone who runs the line or refs in professional football finds being the object of ridicule or abuse a shocking or novel experience. no moral judgement on that just stating.

Fair enough, if that ridiculr or abuse was as a result of some shockingly bad decision by a match official that changed the outcome of a game. That would be entirely fair game. But it wasn't. So it isn't.

As for a public outcry, it seems that SKY needed a kick up the backside to change their archaic ways of operation.

All the broadcasters have this sort of behaviour to some extent. The BBC have been guilty of shelving women over a certain age.

nonsense refs get untold and nasty grief for looking like paedos, being bald, running funny, any sort of distinguishing characteristics or flaws, without them even blowing up the other way. remember the thalidomide one. f***ing hell he had some bottle.

ever wanted to chair a ref off after he's weighted the game your way? probably not as they have a role in the panto where everyone hisses them from all sides of the stage.

Behave! Sky offers the most bland, family and new football fan-friendly coverage you could wish for. I honestly believe if they could clone Jamie Redknapp in order to present everything they would. FFS, they won't even show pitch invaders.

The precise reason they've taken Gray/Keysgate seriously is because it is SO anti what they like to stand for.

The only time I witnessed a Man more flagulatted than Keys was Jesus Christ in The Passion of the Christ.

Except Jesus wasn't "flagulatted" he was flagellated

I would disagree and suggest that it's the subsequent binfest in the media that's blown this all out of proportion.

Nothing to do with Gray suing the news of the world, of course.

The 'victim' has been apologised to, accepted the apology

Of only one of the two guilty parties has been reported as apologising.

In fact, there were reports that the issue of whether or not to apologise was the cause of a disdagreemeent between Gray and Keys. Perhaps this tour of attrition is how Keys will keep his job, and Gray has gone because he was unwilling.

Gray and Keys have destroyed what is probably the pinnacle of the assistant referee's career to date and turned it into a circus. She did nothing whatsoever to deserve that. Gray and Keys deserve all they get.
Tom IMO the only career's Gray and Keys have destroyed are their own, as for the young lady, well the blame for that must surly lie with the turncoat who exposed this sorry affair.

it is starting to appear there is a case for videoing everyone at work all the time and monitoring their potentially sexist comments. it does seem to work in getting rid of the bad apples and ensuring the mob driven dismissal they so richly deserve. judging by this thread nsc would be all for it, as it will certainly make people think very hard about their actions when they are sitting in norfolk square covered in their own piss and kestrel, and we can really start working towards a genuinely kinder and more equal society.

I agree with you Mendoza, I bet in the Hiney household he joined his partner in rounding on these two sory arses, yet quite happy to post vile stuff he would like to do to these SSN girls.

"Thompson seems to have FADED recently although her voice is still FILTH

Sawyer is lovely in a classy sort of way and Clode is pretty in a 'Primary School teacher I'd like to VIOLATE' sort of way.

Gomersall can look quite nice sometimes as well though"

It's a TOUGH one

And judging by this thread other posters on nsc would be quite happy for their missus or daughter to be subjected to ridicule or abuse by bully boys at work for no good reason at all. Well done, they must be very proud of you.

The problem here is not with NSC daring to voice its disapproval of their behaviour. It is that Sky haven't dealt with the issue of sexism in the workplace properly already. Why has this needed to me made public before their behaviour was been called to account?

snide bringing peoples families into it, especially as the retort doesnt really hold water its just using a hypothetical opposing extreme and going nuclear.

well our comments are an issue for us. thats a reasonable debate.

in terms of skys HR policies and how they are applied who dont yet know if there has been prior disciplinary action. the chances are it hasnt you could assume, but its not a normal workplace (although no reason why the same rules cant apply to all the real world works differently) and they are not normal employees. the City is rife with this behaviour but not many people have cameras to hand and they are not celebrities, so no one actively gives a f*** apart from those who feel strongly enough about it to act.
