Sorry but that's nonsense. There are a lot of very respected people who describe themselves as left wing libertarians, Noam Chomsky being one that springs to mind.

Is the correct answer.

There's left and conservative libertarians, the thing that both have in common is a wish for less government and more individual responsibility.

The Anarchists tend to come from the left side of the compass.

Me for another. I don't see a contradiction in believing in both equality and liberty. Indeed i'd argue you cant achieve equality without having civil liberties. Its the liberties i believe in that define my politics. And just to prove you right, my background picture on my pc is the memorial "communards wall" at Pere Lachaise cemetery where many of the communards were slaughtered. Some may call them fools Id call them brave idealists.
