The thing is what's the alternative? In a global economy where trading fortresses seem to dominate, multiculturalism really is the only hope for better understanding.

If multiculturalism has failed in this country is it down to the fact that other cultures settling in this country have not tried to adapt to our way of life and try to hold on to the traditions of the countries they have left behind. If I went to live overseas I would do my best to intergrate as I feel it shows respect and is good manners.

I can fully appreciate why a young asian lad would stick to curried lamb and his cricket team as opposed to integrating with English lads, eating oven chips and following the shower of shit which is the England national team.

Seriously, if you were to move abroad, would you drop all your current customs, ways of thinking and behaving, cultural preferences just so you can be a facsimile of those you perceive to be from the country you were emigrating from?
