Most memorable gig at the Brighton Centre

I realise that it is not everyone's cup of tea as a venue but it is a lot easier to get too than London!

What are your favourite gig memories?? Mine in case anyone cares are:-

1. Thin Lizzy (Spring 1980??) Phil Lynott rock genius.

2. Elton John (December 1981/2?) in the days when he rocked and with the original Elton John band of Nigel Olsen, Dee Murray and Davey Johnstone.

3. Village People (yes honestly!). More camp than a scouts convention but perfect mood setter for the party atmosphere that was the annual G**y G*****r ganshow prior to copybooks being blotted big time.

Whats yours?

I went to that. Excellent fun.

Only other gigs I've seen there are Deep Purple, Genesis & Gabrielle. All pretty good. Going to see Aussie Pink Floyd there in April though.

Oops. forgot Jools Holland & his rhythm and blues orchestra. That was excellent.

Only been to one gig there - the ever-excellent Manics, supported by the not-quite-so Ian Brown, a few years ago.

Sadly saw neither The Jam's last gig there - nor Bing Crosby's, just days before his death.

Abort, retry, fail
It makes you realise how much shit we get dished up nowadays. The Council need to pull their sodding finger out and build a decent performing arts/conference centre. Is that too much to ask for!?
