Doesn’t bode well then , if no club better than bottom of the Belgium league would want him.
When he signed , many on here had him in the first team immediately, alongside Biss.

MOISES RECALLED FROM BEERSCHOT

Brighton & Hove Albion have recalled Moises Caicedo from his loan spell with Belgian side Beerschot.

The Ecuadorian international returns to Graham Potter’s Premier League squad, subject to international clearance.

Technical director Dan Ashworth said, “With Enock Mwepu picking up an injury at West Brom and Yves Bissouma away at the African Cup of Nations, we have recalled Moises to give Graham an additional midfield option.

“We’ve also loaned out Taylor Richards to Birmingham, Aaron Connolly to Middlesbrough and Jurgen Locadia has made a permanent move, so it makes sense for Moises to come back here as part of the squad for the second half of the season.”

Caicedo played in the club’s Carabao Cup tie against Cardiff City; he was also on the bench for the opening two Premier League matches of the season.

He signed for Albion on deadline day of the 2020/21 winter transfer window from Independiente del Valle, putting pen-to-paper on a four-and-a-half-year contract.

He came through the youth ranks at Ecuadorian top-flight side Independiente before making his first appearance for the club in October 2019.

A year later he made his first senior appearance for his country in a 1-0 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification defeat against Argentina.

Just four days later he scored his first international goal in a 4-2 win over Uruguay, in turn becoming the first player born in the 21st century to score in a CONMEBOL World Cup qualifier. He now has four caps to his name.

Good. I imagine he needs a confidence boost and being around the EPL squad will only help. Hopefully the old 'good enough, he's old enough mantra will fit.

Good to see him back, hopefully he can get some consistent game time and prove himself.

I wonder if the interest in Bissouma is looking more and more solid? Or just for cover following Mwepu's (short-term?) injury and Richards' loan out.

Good. Nice to have him back.

Although the down side may be what it says about Mwepu's injury and/or Bissouma's sale

Stick him next to Lallana in the centre of midfield. He’ll learn more in one single match than he would learn in a season with Beer-shot.

Bissouma on the bench? Just how good must Mali's other midfielders be?

Or head turned by transfer speculation / bit more in it than we know ?

He’s been avoiding playing for Mali for years, I’m sure he is by far their best player but he obviously needs to play his way into the team he has consistently shunned in the past.
