I was fortunate enough to see Marley at The Centre in 1979/80 - the maestro.

The Wailers are supporting UB40 on their current tour, I think there's only familyman left from the line up of that era

Yeah, I was there for that. I believe that was his last ever gig in the UK :(

Anyone remember the young dub poet Michael Smith who was killed after his first album? Saw him at the Top Rank and he was excellent.

I think one more at Brixton followed, which I believe also produced a lot of live material.

did anyone rate Third World?

I saw them a few times...The Top Rank..Dome etc

their albums Journey To Addis and The Story's Been Told were at one time my most played vynals and I ended up having bloody great scratches down them!

Now That We've Found Love was a commercial success ( the 12" version much better than the single) and the lead guitarist was very good.

for a while when young would not play anything but now that we found love

however then i looked at rest of catalogue
and only recently relinquished my hold on third world vinyl to my mum!
liked 96 degrees in the shade too

Black Uhuru's the Dub Factor is superb

Top album for me from that era was Black Uhuru's RED.

just came on to thank Hiney for the Misty CD I received - Cheers mate!

Big thanks for Hiney,

Cheers mate, owe you one.

It has already brought back great memories, with Inflammable Material and the Clash, it was the back from the pub record.

Just checked mine, It's RED as well! (oo-er missus)

Another couple of reggae vinyls that I have that I always thought were great are:

Johnny Osbourne -Truths and Rights
and
Aston Familman Barrett - Juvenile Delinquents

haven't been able to find them on CD at all, guess I'm gonna have to buy a new Record deck!

Likewise. My copy just arrived (took a couple of days longer to get here as the postman had to finish his spliff first) - Ghetto of the City is playing as I type.
