...black people have never had it as good as now.

OMG! And they should be grateful? I sense you are disappointed that things are (possibly) slightly better than they were 20 years ago. That post has to be one of the most crass I have ever read on NSC (and obviously there's a lot of competition!!)

Unless you had an answer from all 50/60 (guess) Millwall fans that booed, it’s very difficult to give an exact opinion / answers to it isn’t it - yet we have 52 pages and another binfest...

Jesus wept. There’s just so much wrong with all of this I don’t even know where to start. However, I’m not sure it’s possible to have a sensible discussion with anyone who thinks the BBC is ‘leftie’ and that systematic racism doesn’t exist because ‘it isn’t as bad to be black now’ as it was, say, 20 years ago.

That’s not why I said it didn’t exist, but it is undoubtedly better for black people now, which I am extremely glad about! But you guys just keep bogeymen up in your head.

How did I know that ‘Never had it so good’ would bring out a reaction as if I actually said something racist.

You lot are so predictable :ffsparr:

Fixing what exactly? Where are your stats? You can’t just say ‘systemic racism’ is real just because the BBC and other leftie media tell you it is.

I don’t subscribe to your race-baiting, victimhood kind of politics.

Race relations were the best they’d ever been in this country up until ‘BLM’ marched through our streets desecrating our statues, and you think people should be applauding them in the name of ‘progression’.

And obviously you didn’t read one of my previous posts pointing out out how black people have never had it as good as now. If we were under ‘systematic racism’ none of that stuff would’ve happened. You need to open your eyes and stop pretending there is some kind of conspiracy holding black people back, because it’s pretty evident that the opposite is happening.
You were presented with stats earlier in this thread. Stats that were cited and referenced from credible source and interpreted effectively.

Said post made you change your point from everyone is treated equally to some guff about class.

How about you present some stats to back up your shifting position on this.

At the moment you have no credibility.

National Socialism didn't start with Nurenburg rallies.

Do you genuinely believe that ethnic minorities are treated exactly the same as whites in the UK? That people don't harbour preconceptions about ethnic groups? I infer from your comments that you accept that discrimination exists but they should suck it up. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'd be interested to know more about the conspiracy promoting the advancement of Blacks.

You mentioned class earlier, and I fully agree that the entrenched system in Britain needs dismantling. The class system affects minorities too though.

I don’t believe ethnic minorities are treated any differently to me or anyone else I know for that matter.

No, I don’t think discrimination exists systemically. Unfortunately, there probably are a few ‘stuck in the past’ racists about, but I really don’t think ‘taking the knee’ is going to change their mind, if anything, it would probably just entrench them in their views further.

Thank you for engaging in a proper dialogue, rather than the same old ‘alt-right’’ comments I see from some of the losers on here.

I have to say, 50 to 60 seems to me a very, very bad guess. That was a large crowd booing.

I would also suggest that though it would be lovely to hear each Millwall fan's explanation for why they booed, it is fair to make assumptions as many have done. You only have to look at their message board to see how prevalent their backward views are, and they have a monumental amount of form.

They booed because they don't support the premise that black lives should matter as much as white lives.

In my humble opinion.

So I presume that you are a black person and therefore qualified to say "black people have never had it as good as now". Are you talking about black people in Britain who are mainly descended from enslaved Africans? If so, yeah I suppose things are better for them, but it's pretty flippin' obvious that there still isn't a level playing field, apart from ironically on the playing field.

No, what I mean is that they have a level playing field now and yes, it took well too long to get to this stage.

I could ask my black brother-in-law what he thinks if you want?

Err no, they shouldn’t be grateful. I have no idea how you assumed that I am disappointed that black people are better off, you’ve made that up in your head mate. I believe in everyone being equal and I also believe that’s where we are at.

Go and use your false outrage on someone else.

I don’t care if you don’t think I’m credible, I don’t believe in your leftie nonsense even though I used to. Maybe that’s why I’m so immune to it.

I have seen stats that show you are far more likely to get into university as a black guy than a white one, but I can’t be bothered to go looking for them, I have better things to do! Sorry! I don’t store up all the information I find to show and tell at a later date.

I’ve never changed my point. We live in a classist system, but I don’t think it has anything to do with race.

BLM is about people being killed by police, that doesn’t really happen here.

Get off the bandwagon. If you really think people kneeling down like they are in an orchestrated religion is going to change a thing, you are deluded.

Yeh get the point. Maybe I’m trying to show too much faith in human kind. I do stand by my guess though. Difficult to tell if you’re not there of course. There was one particularly loud individual boo - I do think a boooooooo sounds louder then one person when made though. Hard to tell, but with only 2k and looking at the crowd, some in there I wouldn’t have expected booed (like the old lady with the scarf) I was giving them the benifit.

You ignored the article I posted earlier that studied the evidence and statistics showing quite clearly that the playing field still isn't level. The article interpreted the data effectively and to my mind came to a sound conclusion. Do you have data that contradicts this? Or do you feel the article was flawed in some way? I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

I would also love to see the evidence you have that leads you too your conclusion?

Thanks for engaging in discussion rather than spouting alt right bollocks like other posters.

How on earth can you know as an individual that we are at a point where everyone is equal? How many shoes must you have filled and experienced across society to know we are at a perfect balance of equality. You’ve got Trump & Farage in your avatar - I’m probably wasting my breathe.

Yeah, I ignored it, just like any article or video I post on here is ignored I’m afraid, that’s where we are at. So, I can’t really be bothered to find things anymore such is the browbeating and bullying that comes on here with having a different opinion. Why should I bother? If I wanted to I could find you videos of black people saying that black people don’t have it any worse off than a white person in a similar position, but then you could say ‘Well, it’s just one black person’.

Like I said before, this BLM stuff isn’t going to change a thing, I think it’s making things worse, which is incredibly frustrating.

I want to know what you think ‘needs to change’?

What are you, a Talkradio presenter? We now live in a society that anyone with a shred of human decency is 'a Leftie' or Woke. and common sense is right wing bollocks spouted in an echo chamber.

In the same way that you think it isn’t, obviously.

I think the reasons are those that you have already stated..but it does remind people that it’s not specific to Millwall fans ....I wonder if a more interesting poll/debate would be one that asked if it should be continued for the whole season or stopped at the end of the year and some sort of assessment done of its effectiveness

I just glanced over your article and it didn’t suggest to me that their is systemic racism. It seemed a lot of it was to do with polls (which can be worded in certain ways) saying that some people think different races can born with different IQ’s and such. Well, statistics (there’s that word again) do seem to back that up, like you are more likely to have a higher IQ if you are Chinese.

Another bit was something about names. Well, again, studies show that you are more likely to go with what is more familiar to you, I wouldn’t say that was racist or proof of anything systemic. You are also more likely to get promoted more quickly as a tall person than a short person, these are unconscious biases that can’t be overcome. You can probably say similar about how good looking or thin a person is.
