BTW I have just started reading Athertons autobiography. Its a good read. Just got on to the match at Sydney when he declared with Hick 98 not out. I was at this match and Hick was in the 90's for about an hour! They hardly spoke to each other for the reat of the tour, before Hick went home injured!
The relationship with the players and Illingworth is also good reading. Once again I was at the match in Cape town when England lost in two days. Teh players were a little down and then as they watched the interviews Illingworth confirmed there would be a one day game the next day to make up for the 2 day test. It was the first the players knew about it (they also lost that!!)
