How did they cheat us out of an over?

And wasn't there supposed to be 96 overs bowled today, yet there have only been 73?

What's going on?
Reduced from 96 because of the rain.

Last hour was deemed to have started at 5.05pm. That means a MINIMUM of 15 overs have to be played in the last hour. But there was time for 17 (because Mushy doesn't hang around).

At the end over the 16th 'last hour' over, the Middlesex batsmen walked off. By the time the umpires recalled them, the 6.05pm deadline had arrived and Yasir Arafat's final over never happened.

We lose TEN POINTS for getting a draw instead of the victory that Yas was OBVIOUSLY going to get for us.

Did anyone notice that Murray Goodwin's comical 156 made him the first player this season to pass 1,000 runs in the County Championship?

:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Obviously the 1,450 scored by Ramprakash don't count, because he plays in some minor division that everyone ignores.

I thought if a result could be reached they could add more overs or time?

No-one seems to be mentioning that, following the 9th wicket, the Middx No. 11 ambled in as though he had all the time in the world, stopped for a drink on the way, stopped for a chat with his colleague, then dawdled to the wicket.

It's the sort of deliberate time-wasting we see all the time in football - like at substitutions - so I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but it could well have cost us 10 points.

For the last 10 overs, I'd say there was a wicket, a close call or a half-chance three times an over.

To be fair to Middlesex, there was no chance of any result before yesterday afternoon when they opened the game up.
