Do not drop mayo.

If there was to be one thing to be learnt from friday was if you play players in the right place the team looks better.
putting reid at lb would be madness

Now hang about, we've just won our first game in months and you want to go changing the team?

Why should we drop El-Abd as long as he is doing a good job?

McShane is clearly a class player, but I don't think anyone should expect to walk into a winning team.

i didnt say drop El abd

This is a great dilemna for MM, not so long ago we were struggling to field fit centrebacks- Cardiff?

Another possible scenario:

Sign McShane on loan to end of season + a full back on loan.

Andy Johnson to West Ham £5m
Zamora to Reading £400k

Reading loan us a striker for the season.

I think you dreamt that one, not a chance of BZ going for 400k

Reading are interested in him and I dont think that he will command much more.

He cost West Ham nothing and helped them get promotion I would consider that good business.

I would contemplate dropping Butters to the bench to be replaced by McShane. He and El-Abd would be a quality pairing because of their defensive skill and pace. El-Abd is nowhere near as good playing right back as he is centre back, same as Hinshelwood.

Hate to admit it but for once I agree with you

I cant believe that MM is even considering not putting Mcshane straight back into the defence according to todays Argus . Surely he is worth a place along side Tank with perhaps El abd swapping to a fullback role .

He has to keep a very decent young player like El Abd motivated - this is actualy fine management.

The way Hammond is playing at the moment, I really can't see any harm in trying Mcshane in CM

One of the problems on Friday was that we won too few defensive headers - I should think that is exercising McGhee's mind more than anything else.

Execellent point. Although we won, there were times when El Abd/Butters were struggling with the aerial bombardment in the first half.

He didn't cost West Ham nothing he was valued at £750,000 when Defoe went the other way

Like against Norwich do you mean? As ever, it's a bit more complicated than that.

Hammond's doing OK - he was our best player in that decent first half display against Reading.
