He played well again at Cardiff, so clearly it was just the kick up the arse he needed - great management by McGhee

What all the things that he has tried to cut out of his game this year? He has tried to stay on his feet, he has shown a better work ethic and tracked back. However it does not get round the fact that last year he was either stuck on the wing or watching the ball sail 3 feet over his head. This season, too often crosses have been in the air and at 5'5" he is not going to beat 6'2" centre backs. However such as on Sunday for the first goal, the cross was threaded on the ground for him and he scored. That is called playing to a players strengths. Coppell did it with Knight and Knight scored about 12 goals in those opening games (cue argument about lower league), McGhee has not done it with Knight and so you have seen a poor return. Still I am sure that Le Supermarch Chariot will make all the difference.

But that was in a lower league ;).

He has been a much improved player this year i dont disagree with anything said in that post but all of our strikers are about 3 foot 8 (with the execption of McCammon)! and none of them react the way leon does. Both Palace games he was really up for nd it showed, if he can play with that much commitment for the reason of the season he will get 15-20 goals.

Leon wouldnt have scored those goals if MM hadnt dropped him, he obviously knows leon likes proving people wrong and it was good management.

Damn right. Didn't he do the same last season/season b4 that?

Why not? He had a bit of luck that was missing before - or was the drive against the bar against Ipswich, for instance, down to his horrendous lack of respect for the world at the time?

As far as I could see, his performance was of a similar high standard to most of his others this season. You're right, he does seem to like to prove people wrong, but he already has to do that every week given the fans at this club.
