I imagine the 'netting' will be like the above. Will look brilliant if they do it.
yes. they make such a fuss about their industrial heritage and a lot to be said in favour of a bit of old school square brick building. would stand out as a stadium, be "iconic" for the right reasons, not an architects wet dream. Are you suggesting something grey and more in keeping with the sky of Manchester, like this a concrete factory type building perhaps with a chimney as a symbol of the north. I quickly drew this as mock up of what the new stadium could look like...

They should have gone for a design like the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.yes. they make such a fuss about their industrial heritage and a lot to be said in favour of a bit of old school square brick building. would stand out as a stadium, be "iconic" for the right reasons, not an architects wet dream.
Their waiting list for season ticket is estimated to be tens of thousands but they know they will fill it via their BILLION members globally. If they build it, people will come - from all over the world - and they will pay for the privilege. Personally, whilst not sure about the three giant masts, (not very Manchester ) I think it's a hugely impressive project. It's also further evidence that our football clubs can be major drivers of re-generation and that the Premier League is now one of our most successful businesses.Do they think they could fill a 100k stadium for league games ? Maybe Man City , Liverpool & Newcastle but can't see it being full for many other games unless the tickets are really cheap. Still that's 10k tickets for away fans such as Us, Palace and Bournemouth![]()
BBC said today that the three masts are meant to represent the three prongs on the devil's trident on their badge !Their waiting list for season ticket is estimated to be tens of thousands but they know they will fill it via their BILLION members globally. Yeah its a bit done. The first thing it reminded me of was the Munich Olympic Stadium which was a very bold design in 1972.

As if that requires some sort of sportswashing campaign.I think what it is is a way of convincing the moderate to hardcore United fans of a middle east takeover. A true sports washing project. Just watch it unfold.
How else will a club £1bn in the red be able to afford a £2bn project? Reading between the lines this is actually the death nail for United and, moreover, potentially for football.
