Just a cretin. Feel sorry for his son
Mass hysteria continues. How many cases of regular flu yesterday? How many deaths as a result of regular flu yesterday? Why are these figures not reported so that people can see the comparison and hopefully realise that this is not as scary as people are making out?
Oh this old chestnut again!
Why not include those that have died from drink driving? Why because it's got **** all to do with it.

It seems blatantly obvious. A lot of experts saying it, as well as saying Italy acted to late.
I'm not convinced of the official...... let's wait to get maximum timing correct. It's the economy stupid, they just won't say it, social distancing is going to have all sorts of economic consequences on business and employees..... This imho is the reason for delaying, not some super duper public health stat that delay is better for citizens.
Closing our borders from affected countries, quarantining arrivals, could be done today even whilst waiting for social distancing...... Everyone else it seems is at it, except good old 'take it on the chin' blighty.
The Chinese got pissed off when some countries closed their borders to Chinese 6 weeks ago and yet the first thing they do now is exactly that. All foreigners must now be quarantined.
Yet we simply dither, delay and procrastinate as the crisis deepens.

Yes, they've still got the lag of cases from before they instituted the shutdown. If the cases take around 6 days to show, then we should see if an improvement if the measures are working by the middle/end of next week. Hopefully things will be improving in Italy then.
It's definitely a warning that shows why we should avoid public gatherings at the moment and keep our distance from each other. We have no way of knowing who might be infectious and while the UK seems to be doing ok at their strategy things could get worse within a few days.
To put it simply: if you get the coronavirus you are much more likely to die than if you get the flu.

I think this sort of thought process is now our biggest danger. How can we tell who is taking no care whatsoever?

Delay tactics seem essential now.
Although a prolonged period of infection poses problems as well, it allows time for some who get infected to recover and so be able to get back to work (eg NHS staff). Maybe those proven recovered might get special status in places where face-to-face is needed or food handling etc?

I’m genuinely staggered at the sheer ignorance (or stupidity, or hubris, or both) demonstrated by some here and others in Brighton the past week.
There is an official proclamation today that Covid-19 is officially a pandemic. You literally can’t get more official then that. And this thing is just getting started. It’s escalating with no vaccine in sight.
Are people really still suggesting this is “just a flu mate”. I mean really??
Reminded of George Carlin lately:
“Some people are really ****in’ stupid. Look at it this way. Think of how stupid the average person is, and then realise that half of ‘em are stupider then that”.
There’s some real scary dumbass mother******* walking around. This thread is testament to that.

Hmmm, sounds a bit clichéd that. And even if true in part, the northern Milan - Turin - Genoa region is the most developed and well-organised part of the country.
Indeed. It's frankly like saying why don't we let people drive at 190 miles per hour. Far more people die from cancer.

Yet there are some folk here openly dismissing this as just a flu and openly planning their next holiday.
Openly displaying their ignorance, ‘proudly’, even...

You think hundreds of thousands are going to die in this country ? It’s be no where near that figure !
