I didn't spot the cctv camera, but I spent half the programme looking for sky dishes etc... I think they did a pretty good job and the cars are great.

The Allegro police cars, quality.:lolol:

Absolute tosh from beginning to end - he pulls a gun on the superior officer, helps a murder suspect get away - and they all clap him on the back and go to the pub

I'm all for suspending reality but I just don't get this at all

Think we have to remember. This is all going on in his sub concious. So its not going to be reality

did anyone else notice also just how empty the roads were. there were only the occasional car parked on the road......excellent TV.

Where we kept being drawn to the "life support room" and you could hear the doctors. For all the flaws LI mantioned, I thought it was a fantastic series and as someone said, its now replaced by daziel and pascoe, which was dreadfull 5 years ago!!!

Bring back David Tennant and Casenova, that was a truly brilliant series.

Do you think last night's episode was reshot?

Originally, they didn't know that there was going to be a second series so he may have "come back to 2006" at the end of the program. As the series proved a hit, they may have reshot the final minutes to allow a second series?

(apologies if someone else has already mentioned this)

Great prog BTW

My missus who is a planning office but specialist with old "listed" buildings. Noticed loads of false windows not of the time.

Plus the phone box was just glued there. But so what.

One of the writers said on Radio 5 today, that the red phone didn't come in until 1974. So they were obviously doing it tongue in cheek.

Could he be a real copper in 73 but the coma makes him think that he is from 2006?

Why would he use references about the future mobiles, Mike Tyson etc?

It really shows how diff Britain has become in attitudes. Not all for the better. I mean PC is now so ingrained that we cant do anything or say anything without somebody making a court case out of it.

It was the way sam said that his boss was a fat, egotistical homophobe bordering alcoholic who likes the company of men (or whatever)

To which gene says - you make it sound like thats a bad thing.

:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Im not sure if it was re shot - but I think if it hadnt been commissioned for s second series then it would have a "Quantum Leap" about it and he doesnt get home....

I would have thought in the woods where he had the opportunity to nick his dad, so he would have stayed is the point where thet probably shot 2 endings. If it was not being recommissioned, then he would have arrested him and woken up, cue all the people from 1973 as staff in the hospital, but as it had been commissioned for another series, the old man gets away and he does not wake up.

but the old man will be there for him when, if, he does wake up.

Watched them all with the last one last night. Great little series and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Made me realise what a 21st century kid I am though. If I had to live in 1973 I reckon I'd top myself. Need my technology too much!

Oooh, three of me in a row. :)

Has anyone seen any of the American remake of this? Harvey Keitel is good as Gene Hunt, although he's a few years too old so he lacks the physical menace.

Not a bad remake, and stays largely true to the original though retuned for the Yankee doodles.

The biggest problem for me is the show being cut to 40 minutes. Is crams a bit much in to too short a time.

You can't beat the original, but anyone sufficiently bored, have a download. Be sure to get the final version, not the pilot which is also available online. That one was pants.
