Really good result Albion. By the sounds of it we thoroughly deserved it and i'm really thrilled for Dean Wilkins and the players as it seems finally our efforts are being rewarded. Perhaps the best result of the season? It could possibly be.

Albion have moved up to 14th place in League One tonight after a Bas Savage inspired 4-1 victory at Brisbane Road. The big striker was involved in the first three Albion goals after being preferred to Jake Robinson in the Albion starting line-up.

The opening goal came after 39 minutes when Savage floated a cross in from the right hand side that found Dean Hammond unmarked at the far post. The Albion skipper took his time and fired the ball right footed past goalkeeper Glyn Garner into the top-left corner of the Leyton Orient goal to end a four game dry spell for the Seagulls.

Savage added the second himself after 57 minutes with an instinctive finish from the edge of the goal area. Latching onto a cross from Dean Cox the big striker hit a beautifully placed shot into the top-right corner to claim his first Albion goal.

Ten minutes later Joe Gatting put the game beyond the home side's reach with a simple tap-in from six yards out, after a great nod-back by Savage had left the Orient defence in disarray.

Leyton Orient picked up a late consolation goal in the 87th minute when Shane Tudor caught the Albion defence napping. The O's best player on the night fired in a quickly taken free-kick that Jason Demetriou headed past Michel Kuipers.

However, the final word lay with the Albion as less than two minutes later Dean Cox got himself back on the scoresheet after a nine-game barren spell. The diminutive winger picked up a Nathan Elder flick-on to coolly place the ball low to Garner's left to put the seal on an impressive Albion display.

A full match report will follow later...
